Meet Ethan: Ethan is a Veteran who moved into Hope Manor I after experiencing homelessness, carrying with him both the weight of instability and the hope for something better. For some time, finding permanent housing felt out of reach, despite his desire to rebuild his life. Recently, that changed. Ethan was awarded a HUD-VASH voucher, opening the door to stable housing and the possibility of a place he can finally call home.
Ethan’s progress over the past few months has been nothing short of remarkable. When he first entered the program, he was guarded and hesitant to engage in services or accept support. Through ongoing conversations and consistent rapport building, Ethan gradually began to open up, sharing more of his story and allowing trust to grow. With that trust came change. He began attending groups, participating in housing fairs, and working closely with his SSVF caseworker toward his goals.
Today, Ethan is not only actively engaged in his own journey, but he has also become a thoughtful and valued voice within the program. He has offered meaningful suggestions on how to bridge the gap between residents and staff, demonstrating growth, insight, and a willingness to help others along the way. Watching Ethan turn his life around has been inspiring, and his story is a powerful reminder of what can happen when support, patience, and opportunity come together.
