DESCRIPTION:HELP MAKE OUR HOLIDAY WISHES A SUCCESS!\nPARTNER WITH VOA ILLINOIS THIS HOLIDAY SEASON! \n\n\n\n\n\n\nEach year we at VOA Illinois host Holiday Wishes. Holiday wishes is our annual holiday drive that provides holiday gifts to the children of the Veteran families we serve\, the youth in our foster care program\, and the children in our Rapid Rehousing program. We are blessed every year to have generous individuals and companies that donate gifts to the children. Each child selects up to three wishes (each up to $25) and we ask our partners to fulfill these wishes. Each year we provide gifts\, toys\, and JOY to more than 350 children. \nIn addition to collecting presents for the youth this year; we are looking for partners interested in providing gifts to the adults that we serve. SUMMARY:Operation Backpack (Starts in June)
DESCRIPTION:PROVIDING BACKPACKS AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES TO HELP CHILDREN START OFF THE SCHOOL YEAR RIGHT. \n\nOperation Backpack is an effort to provide backpacks and school supplies to the children and communities we serve. VOA Illinois is able to provide over 1\,000 backpacks filled with school supplies with the support of various partners and donors. \n\n\n\nOperation Backpack is an annual drive to collect school supplies and backpacks for the children served by VOA Illinois and the surrounding community.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOperation Backpack is an annual drive hosted by VOA Illinois to collect backpacks and school supplies for the youth we serve including\, children in foster care\, children in families experiencing homelessness\, and children of the Veterans served by VOA Illinois. In addition to providing backpacks to the over 450 youth we serve\, we also host a back-to-school event open to all community members and we partner with local schools\, community organizations\, and churches to distribute to students in need. \nOur goal is to provide each child we serve with a brand new backpack and everything they need to start the school year off on a positive foot. We know without the proper materials and support a child will not succeed in the classroom. \nThere are a few ways you can help make this year a success: \n\nYou can visit our store to purchase backpacks and school supplies\nYou can create a team page and encourage your coworkers\, friends\, and family to purchase items to help reach your goal\nYou can shop in person and drop off the items at our office.
