Suit Up- a night to honor our nation's Veterans

Friday, October 14 @ Parliament Chicago

Suit Up is a fundraising event hosted by our Auxiliary Board in an effort to raise funds for Veterans in need served by Volunteers of America of Illinois. Volunteers of America of Illinois is a nonprofit organization that serves more than 500 Veterans each year including both male and female Veterans; single Veterans and those with children; and those from WWII through the current conflicts.

  • Hope Walk (May)

    A walk to honor the Veterans we serve

    In an effort to raise awareness and funds for the Veterans we serve, Hope Walk provides the community with an opportunity to say thanks to the women and men who sacrificed so much for our freedoms.

  • Operation Backpack (starts in June)

    Providing backpacks and school supplies to help children start off the school year right.

    Operation Backpack is an effort with the support of HSBC to provide backpacks and school supplies to children in the Chicago-land area. Volunteers of America of Illinois is able to provide over 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies with the support of various partners and donors.

  • Veterans Leadership Luncheon (November)

    Highlights the unique challenges facing Veterans and honors the exceptional leadership of individuals who are standing up for Veterans.

    The Veterans Leadership Luncheon is an opportunity to honor the extraordinary sacrifice and bravery of our nation’s Veterans while celebrating the remarkable contributions of local individuals who have shown tremendous leadership in supporting Veterans over the past year.

  • Holiday Wishes (starts in November)

    Provides children in our program with gifts during the holidays

    Each year we, at Volunteers of America of Illinois, host Holiday Wishes, a program that provides gifts during the holidays to the children that we serve in our foster care program and to the children of the Veterans we serve.
