Auxiliary Board members are young professionals in Chicago who are looking to meet new people while making a difference in their community. They have shared ideas about ways to fund raise and have connections with corporations or foundations that would be interested  in supporting Volunteers of America of Illinois. Auxiliary Board members are also very passionate about the work that Volunteers of America of Illinois does and are committed to advancing the mission. 

Meet the Auxiliary Board Executive Members

  • Jake Petoskey

    Auxiliary Board Chair

    Jake Petoskey currently serves as the Auxiliary Board Chair having previously served on the Auxiliary Board in charge of Corporate Sponsorship. Jake currently works as an Associate at the private equity firm Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe where he manages their portfolio companies on driving growth and operational improvement. Jake graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Supply Chain Management. Originally from Michigan, Jake resides in Chicago with his wife.

  • Nik Ellickson

    Auxiliary Board Executive Member

    Nik Ellickson is a Territory Sales Manager covering the State of Illinois for Illinois Tool Works (ITW). Prior to working with ITW, Nik was an associate with KPMG in Audit and an Analyst for Keating Capital both based in Denver, Colorado. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Denver with a degree in Accounting. Nik grew up playing hockey and enjoys outdoor activities.

  • Tommy Miller

    Auxiliary Board Executive Member

    Tommy was born and raised just north of Chicago in Winnetka, IL. He attended The North Shore Country Day School followed by the University of Denver where he received both his BSBA in finance and his MBA with a concentration in finance. Out of school he worked at William Blair, in their Investment Banking Group specializing in Industrials M&A advisory. Tommy currently lives in the Gold Coast of Chicago.

  • Maggie Radelet

    Maggie Radelet, Marketing/Communications at Cars.com. Boston College graduate, Springsteen fan and Chicago resident. Passionate about empowering the undeserved.

  • Roshni Shikari

    Auxiliary Board Executive Member

    Roshni Shikari is a staff attorney at the ACLU of Illinois. Prior to joining the ACLU, Ms. Shikari worked for a civil rights litigation firm focusing on disability rights and special education in St. Louis, Missouri. She has also represented children and parents in abuse and neglect proceedings as a student attorney and has worked with indigent persons on housing and benefits issues as a paralegal caseworker for a legal aid organization. She graduated cum laude from Middlebury College and magna cum laude from Washington University School of Law.

  • Luis Zepeda

    Auxiliary Board Executive Member

    After attending Boston College, Luis Zepeda, returned to Chicago to pursue his passion in politics and worked on various high profiled campaigns. Mr. Zepeda was appointed as the youngest ward superintendent in the City of Chicago and currently remains in that position, serving the residents of the 2nd ward (where the main office of Volunteers of America of Illinois is located). His father served in the Vietnam War, which has provided him with a unique perspective of what many of our Veterans undergo after they have served.

  • Joshua Allan Miller, Veteran

    Auxiliary Board Executive Member

    Joshua is in service and support at PCM, Inc., responsible for managing pipelines, order processes and procedures, and assisting in the overall sales performance of six Senior Account Managers across the country. He graduated from West Point in 2010 where he was co-captain of the Men’s basketball team. After graduating from the Academy, he was commissioned as an Officer and stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri as an Operations Officer. Outside of work he is passionate about supporting Veteran’s causes and closing the opportunity gap between under-served youths and economic opportunities.

  • Sarah Longley

    Auxiliary Board Executive Member

    Sarah Longley is a Sales Manager with CareerBuilder.com. She has been with CareerBuilder for over 10 years, currently managing a sales group that focuses on strategic partnerships with healthcare clients. Ms. Longley sits on the Chicago Wellesley Club Board of Directors and participates in other community service projects within the Chicago area. She is a Wellesley College graduate.

  • Carlos Arroyo

    Auxiliary Board Executive Member

    Carlos is an Associate Managing Director in Treasury Management for Talmer Bank, a $6.3 Billion mid-sized financial institution in the Midwest. With over 10 years of banking experience, he has held various positions in the industry including management and business development. Previously, he was Lead Conversion and Integrations Training Manager where he helped train and integrate over 1500 employees from failed institutions acquired through FDIC assisted transactions. His community activities include serving as former Secretary on the Board of Directors for Empowering Youth Through Travel which served at-risk youth, the opportunity to travel abroad; former Treasurer on the Board of Directors for a nonprofit that assists the elderly community living in Chicago’s western suburbs and an activity volunteer with Operation H.O.P.E., an organization focused on financial literacy for at-risk youth. Carlos received his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Robert Morris University.
